Creating A Fall Tablescape

My thought for a Fall Tablescape this year was wrapped around the fact that we are living back in the beautiful northwest. We are surrounded by pine trees, lakes, wild life, etc… It’s a gorgeous place to live and with all this natural beauty I knew I should be able to fill our table with natural elements.

Of-course, I headed straight over to my brother’s property to do a little scavenging. He had already trimmed many of his bushes and trees so I got to pick through the piles and then I did a little trimming of my own.

Seriously, everyone I know could come collect twigs for their Fall displays here and there would still be plenty leftover. My brother is so sweet, he’s always happy to share whatever he has with me (not that I really give him a choice). Haha

So here’s what I started with. I didn’t really have a plan, but I knew I needed some height since I’m still waiting for our chandelier to arrive.

I cleared the table and then looked through a couple of containers in the garage. I knew I had some burlap around somewhere. Yes, I found it! I had to layer a couple of pieces ’cause they weren’t quite long enough to stretch across the table. It’s OK, everything that’s going in the center will cover up that seam. It's all about layering!

I really started getting into the decorating trance and forgot to take pictures as I went. So here ya go. You get to jump right into the finished product! Twigs reaching for the ceiling and a couple stretched across the table. I filled in empty spaces with white serving dishes.

Umm…we only have room at our table for Grandpa, Grandma and our four adorable grandchildren. I’m not sure where our kids are going to sit! (laughter fills the air)

Mini white pumpkins and chalkboards make the perfect name tags.

The best buy I’ve ever made was purchasing our white dishes while visiting relatives in Canada years ago. I think I paid $75 for a place setting of 8 and I bought 2 sets. That was before the exchange, so I REALLY scored!!!

Somehow, when the table is set our home just feels so warm and inviting. We just need the smell of turkey roasting in the oven and all would be complete.

I didn't spend any money for this table display. I already owned everything you see. However, I had previously purchased the pumpkins and had them scattered in various places throughout our house. So those cost like 29 cents a piece (maybe 69 cents, I can't remember). I just gathered up 6 for each place setting.
