My Painted Fireplace

I was remodeling my living room when I decided I would try to paint my fireplace. I wanted a white washed look and wanted to get rid of that awful rock.

This is my painted fireplace. Really glad I went out on a limb and painted it.

This was it before I started. Ugly and outdated

Painted all the rock a gray color. (Silver bullet from Behr) It was the same color I used for the walls.

Added some white wash wood stain to the rock making sure not to let it get in between the spaces of the rocks. I applied it with a sponge and wiped it off with a old towel. I applied several coats of it till I got the look I wanted.
Then painted the hearth the same color as the walls and painted the brass strips on the doors with high heat paint.

Painted the mantel black and called it finished. Im really loving it.
