When I saw these Indian-themed salad plates with elephants on them and all the jewel tones, I just knew I had to plan a Bollywood tablescape. This was pretty easy to put together, after I finally found the dishes. They are from World Market, but by the time I discovered them they were no longer available online.I called my local World Market and they told me they only had six left! I got the last six. I was happy that I got those, but disappointed that instead of the set of four they sold online, these were all separate and they only had three of the four patterns. I will be scouting out other World Markets in search of the fourth elephant! [UPDATE: I found my last plate!]I really liked how this tablescape all came together. I began with a sparkly gold tablecloth which I topped with a lovely piece of embellished sheer blue fabric my sister had on hand from her costuming closet. The centerpiece was anchored with an ice blue platter. I scattered multicolored gems on the platter and then added an iron lantern style candleholder. I added little beaded boxes and this fuschia peacock ornament.A couple of dangly green ornaments were draped on the iron lantern to add more sparkle when the candles were lit, and three votives in mercury glass of red, peacock blue and green were nestled among the multi-colored jewels. You can see how I built my place settings, beginning with the beaded placemat, adding a gold starburst charger, adding a blue dinner plate and the elephant salad plates that started it all.Green napkins were layered with red sheer fabric and tucked into a gold beaded napkin ring. For stemware I paired golden brown glasses with pale yellow. I think these brown glasses will be appearing again this Fall.
