No More Shoes Littering the Entry!

Our north Georgia mountain cabin has no entry hall, so shoes and boots tend to pile up at the door. After some thought, I came up with a rustic storage piece that fits right into the decor. Made from 100% pallet wood, pipe and flanges (black iron), it keeps everything nice and neat!

I made the width approximately 12" in depth, to accommodate all sizes of shoes (well, except if an NBA star came for a visit I suppose) and chose 1" trim pieces to keep shoes in place.

I purchased 8" tall black iron pipe from an Internet source (they DO have them at Lowe's and Home Depot, but for about double the price) and flanges. The flanges were attached by screws, pipes screwed into place, etc...very easy assemble.

Here's the hubster mounting the pipes and flanges.

To finish (wanted to match the pine in the house), I used a natural satin finish Poly. This is a HEAVY piece, so it stays in place in the high traffic area it sits.

Another project done!
