A local women's store was closing and selling their fixtures so I purchased one of their black forms knowing I could do something with it. Primer, paint, Mod Podge, Sharpies and tissue paper were all I needed for the project and happened to have all of the supplies on hand already. Here we go...This is what the black form looked like originally. Typical store display form.
It is possible to mount this on a stand using the hardware inside the opening but I don't think I'll do that. Need to find a way of making a "door" of some kind.
After primer and paint
Collected a few favorite sayings from family members and wrote them on the form using a Sharpie marker.
Decoupaged the tissue paper on the form. No design plan, just put the tissue on with Mod Podge. Have you ever decoupaged using tissue paper? It's a pain in the neck! Wet tissue paper is not very forgiving.
A couple of coats of polyurethane and she's done...except for that covering for the hold in the back. Still working on that one! All in all this was a fun project. Surrounded by positive sayings and pretty colors.
