Here's this little birdy's take on this cheap and cheerful cake platter!... These make great hostess gifts, baby or wedding shower decor, tea party platters, every day cake stands...
I found all of the supplies at a WINS thrift store... just dollars a piece... metal, glass... they'll all work! When you get all of your supplies together be sure to wash everything thoroughly to ensure that you remove any grease or wax that would prevent proper adhesion.
After washing everything, I tested all of the china out on the various candle holders and when I found the ones that I liked together I busted out the epoxy...
...anyone who follows Feathering My Nest knows, by now, which epoxy is my favorite!... its the two part LePage Speed Set with the mixing tips. The. Best.
Apply a small bead around the top edge of the candle holder... don't fret if the epoxy runs down inside... when you flip it over and press it to the back of your china, on a flat surface, gravity will help bring the epoxy down to the back of the plate ;)
Plop the epoxied candle holder in the middle of the backside of your china and give it a press... let go and let the epoxy cure... have some damp paper towels on hand for any epoxy that smashes out - you'll want to wipe that away pretty quickly.
Once the epoxy has cured you're good to use your cake stand so get baking! :) These are hand wash only of course. For more details come checkout the expanded post at Feathering My Nest!
And be sure to visit me on Facebook - come and share some photos of the cake stands that you make! I can't wait to see them! xo
